The firm offers advice on all aspects of business law and related
matters, whether this be company law, employment law, contracts and
terms and conditions, IT-related, banking documentation or litigation.
We seek to accommodate our business clients’ legal needs. The
firm is a member of the Law Society’s ‘Lawyers for Your
Business’ Scheme. This is a network of 1,200 solicitors firms
in England and Wales offering specialist legal advice to small and
medium-sized businesses. As part of this Scheme, we offer businesses
a free half-hour consultation.
The core specialisation of the firm lies in employment law and equal
opportunities. We have many years’ experience providing advice
on every aspect of employment law and equal opportunities. The vision
of the firm is to encourage clients to be proactive in their approach
to employment law matters and equal opportunities: to embrace the
positive benefits of having in place, and utilising a vibrant and
current Equal Opportunities Policy; to ensure clients obtain an
annual ‘health check’ for their policies and procedures;
and to incorporate into their planning, equal opportunities
and employment law training. All of these measures will help reduce
to a minimum, successful Employment Tribunal claims against client
companies and client organisations. They will have the added benefit
of a happier, more productive workforce and give added peace of
mind for business owners, managers and directors.

The Principal of the firm, Peter Millican, has recently lectured
in contract law and with his commercial FTSE 100 Company experience
we therefore have a great deal of experience in drafting terms and
conditions of business
and business contracts.
It is important for every business to have clear concise contractual
terms for their business, whichever sector they operate in. This
includes IT contracts for software/hardware; internet/e-commerce
terms and conditions and contracts with suppliers and with customers.
It also includes credit agreements/bank loan documentation and guarantees.
Whether you require a first registration/incorporation of a company,
or whether you are selling or re-structuring your business our firm
can provide advice to assist your business or organisation. This
includes advising on the most appropriate legal vehicle for your
business; drafting a shareholder or partnership agreement; directors
service contracts; or company secretarial advice and support.
We have a vast amount of experience in regulatory matters including
FSA regulation; establishing and running companies in The Bahamas;
Guernsey and the Republic of Ireland. If you are considering transacting
business
in any of these jurisdictions, or in the United States then call
us and we would be happy to help.
We can provide a debt collection service usually on a fixed-fee
basis. We also act for a number of clients in more complex litigation
such as business contractual disputes and partnership disputes.
