The practice was established in 2005 with the aim of providing
first class legal advice and training services; primarily to businesses,
charities and public sector clients. The practice prides itself
on personal customer service; cost - efficient fee structures, and
speed of turnaround. There is a focus on the importance of commerciality
in the provision of legal advice, and the pragmatic approach to
solving clients’ legal issues.
The Principal, Peter Millican, previously spent
21 years working in the financial services sector, the last 17 of
which were spent working in-house in Group Legal for a company now
listed in the FTSE 100 Index. In addition he has spent time during
his training contract at one of the region's foremost law firms.
He therefore brings with him a great deal of legal and business
experience.
We visit clients’ businesses to gain a firm
understanding and appreciation of what they do. We feel that this
enables the firm to provide better quality advice and to build firm
client relationships.
The vision of the firm is to encourage clients
to be proactive in their approach to all legal matters, whether
employment-related advice - contracts of employment; partnership
or shareholder agreements; or terms and conditions of business.
We believe that it is important to ensure that clients have a sound
legal business infrastructure in place and to see the longer-term
value of investing in legal advice and documentation.
As well as the provision of legal advice
and documentation drafting, the firm delivers a wide-range of training
courses and workshops.
